Mom life is realizing you didn’t actually buy a Sesame Street blanket for the baby... you bought a luxury duvet for the cat.

The current situation: Lenny’s dreaming of Big Bird, I’m dreaming of a second cup of coffee, and I've officially been demoted to "human pillow". The rule of the house? Once the cat settles, mom becomes permanent furniture. I guess I'll just be here until further notice.

10/10 for the cozy cuddling vibes, 0/10 for my chances of reaching my coffee before it turns into an iced latte.

Left the toddler at home to do some heavy lifting at the studio. By heavy lifting, I mean sitting on my moon cycle mat and staring at the cards until they made sense.

Pulled my spread for the year: The Sun, The Fool, and The Empress.

Honestly? It’s a lot of “new beginnings” and “creative abundance” energy for someone who mostly just wants to finish her current chapter and drink a hot cup of coffee I don’t have to microwave three times.

But I’ll take it. The Fool feels appropriate for an author working on a new series. And The Empress? Between raising an 18-month-old and mothering a fictional universe where Heaven is falling apart, the “nurturing” vibes are hitting a little too close to home.

Keeping it simple this year. Move the body, trust the cards, and try not to let the Sun go to my head.

I’m Allegra R. Corvetto — romantasy author, Italian-American, and mama to a one-year-old gremlin who eats like a linebacker and lives to dismantle my clean house. My debut romantasy novel, Book of Airy, drops March 17th, 2026. Set in Philly — there’s magic, demons, angels, and characters who absolutely should not be trusted. Think - Supernatural meets Good Omens.

I was raised on pasta, yelling, blunt honesty, and the kind of love that slaps you across the face and then feeds you. My books will emotionally gut you (this is your warning), then whispers “you liked that, didn’t you?” while handing you a cannoli and a list of therapists.
